Exciting News!! I'm.....

So I've been MIA in the blog-o-sphere lately, but I have a really good excuse... I'm officially a business owner! I have been fortunate enough to open my own Pure Barre studio - EEK!!! I told you it was a good excuse. :)

This past weekend, I went with my team to Denver for their training. Here's a little recap of our weekend!

Weekend Update x 2!

How is it already Monday?! The past couple of weeks have been a blur and I didn't get around to doing a Labor Day weekend recap, so I'm combining 2 weekend recaps in this post!

Labor day weekend was very low-key. It was opening dove season in the south zone, so Tyler was in Houston doing a weekend hunt with friends. Whitney and I were up super early on Saturday and headed to Canton, since it was the first weekend of the month! It was so HOT! So ice cream and snow cones were a must! Here are my finds, which I got for a steal! The fall piece was only $20 bucks and I got the 'Love you More' sign for $5! This sign is super special, since that's what my grandpa used to tell me. Can't wait to hang it!!

Throughout Tyler's hunts he wold send me pictures.. my favorite caption was the group picture where he called themselves the Dove Commander. Can you tell we are Duck Dynasty lovers?!

Whitney and I also went to Kendra Scott, since everything in store was 20% off for Labor Day! I went a little cray cray, but I love all of my purchases!! Especially the necklace! :)

I also bought this shadow box and cute little elephant. Can't wait to show you the project I have planned for the shadow box.. it's from Pinterest!!

This weekend was extremely productive! Tyler and I ran errands all day Saturday and then had dinner at our friends house. They have an Egg grill, which is awesome! It adds the best flavor to food! Sunday we visited with family and relaxed at the house AND watched the Cowboys win!

Best Weekend Ever: TX meets TN 2013!

This weekend was one for the record books - definitely one of the best weekends ever! Me, Ashley, Jordon and Allison had a girls weekend so we could turn our Blog BFF relationship into an in real life BFF relationship!! Nashville is the perfect city for a girls weekend and I can't wait to go back! They were just like their blogs and we got along great! I can truly say they are 3 of my very best friends!!! We are already planning our next adventure!! :)

We got to Nashville first thing on Friday morning and it was go-time! We were welcomed to TN with the cutest welcome package from the sassiest cutie, Jordon. She got all of us a Little Big Town record and a package full of Nashville goodies, which included a Fireball shot, coasters, soap, chocolates, postcards and much more. We also got a matching bracelets and initial necklaces from Ashley! SO cute!!

After catching up, we heading to The Country Music Hall of fame, where Reba and Carrie Underwood were showcased! So much fun! After that we headed to an early happy hour at The Southern, where we had the best oysters, fried green tomatoes and grits EVER!

Our last night in Nashville was pretty low-key - dinner and drinks at Kocktails & Kouture! This restaurant had the perfect atmosphere and the food was amazing! More on that tomorrow! :)

Back to reality and off to the doctor I go... woke up sick on Sunday, but my handsome hubby (of 1-yr!!!) took such good care of me! Boo for being sick on our anniversary!

Weekend Shenanigans!

Happy Monday, friends! I'm not usually this enthusiastic about Monday's, but I'm ready to get this week started.. lots of things going on - good and exciting things! Our weekend was full of friends, family and relaxation.

Friday night I got home to this awesome package from Ashley! She is the sweetest and I have already used every single item that she sent in her Pay it Forward gift! Such a thoughtful gift! :) I love getting snail mail - it's the perfect way to brighten someone's day, especially when you're not expecting it!

Saturday was full of errands, lunch with my parents, visiting with my grandma and celebrating the besties birthday!

 

Sunday we went to brunch with one of Tyler's customers and then spent the rest of the day watching movies and catching up on the DVR. We went to RedBox and got Olympus has Fallen and Mud and we watched both of them in the same day.. which hasn't happened in a LONG time. I got up to switch out a movie and Riley took my spot... Can you tell by the guilty look on his face and how he wouldn't make eye contact? This little love bug is such a mess!

I am so pumped about this upcoming weekend!! And not just because it's mine and Tyler's 1-year anniversary on Sunday! :)

Weekend Update: girls night and a reunion!

Hey, hey! This weekend was jam-packed, but in a good way! Friday night my BFF, Whitney, came over for girls night, which included manicures, dinner/drinks/dessert, and Netflix! It was the perfect ending to a crazy week!

Saturday was crazy-busy with errands and my 10-year reunion! I tried Dry Bar for the first time ever and it was amazing! Who wouldn't love having someone fix your hair while drinking mimosas?! The reunion was held at House of Blues.. so much fun catching up friends and seeing old faces!

Weekend Recap: Painting the Dining Room!

How is it Monday already?? This weekend went by waaayyyy too fast, if you ask me! Maybe it's because we've spent literally the last two weekends painting our dining room, which hasn't turned out to be an easy task. Between taping off all of the crown molding, base boards, chair rails and inserts, two coats of paint for the walls, painting the ceiling and painting the said molding, chair rails and inserts - we had our work cut out for us! Let's just say that the previous owners didn't care take the time to make sure their paint job was done the right way. All the beige we were trying to cover up was splattered all over the crown molding! We do see the light at the end of this painting tunnel! We only have the top crown molding left and we are done painting the dining room! We will have that done this week. We love the blue that we picked... such a huge difference!

Here's a few pieces that we're envisioning for our dining room. We want to incorporate yellows, corals, grays and white into the room - we think it will play off of the navy color that we picked for the walls!

Weekend Wrap: Houston, Family, Baseball & Beach!

Happy Monday, loves! Tyler and I went down to Houston for a long, family-filled, weekend and it was perfection! It was so great seeing his aunt, uncle and cousins (who live in Houston) AND his other aunt, uncle and cousins - who are from Boise! It was a nice family get together - Miller style!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Monday, loves! This weekend was full of shopping, baby shower shenanigans, family and poolside fun. I was on a mission this weekend to find shorts and after looking on Saturday, I finally found some on Sunday - 6 pairs to be exact! I'm in shorts heaven! Saturday afternoon was spent celebrating baby Isabella at Rita & Diego's baby shower. Seeing all of the cute baby stuff makes me want a baby! Not yet, though.. Sunday was spent visiting with my grandma and parents, then more shopping. We did break our "no cooking" streak and came up with this awesome meal - grilled chicken with corn & black bean salsa.. to die for!! Recipe will be on the blog soon!

Weekend Wrap: 1st Pool Party of the Summer!

Hi Loves! This weekend was seriously the best.. and much needed! Friday night Whitney and I had our hair appointments - and yes, we plan them together! What better way to get in girl time than to bring in dinner and hang out while each other gets their cut and color?! While I was at the salon, Tyler texted me and told me not to get dinner because he already had it taken care of. I get home and he greets me with a glass of wine, takes me up to the media room and I see this! Candles, sushi, wine and a movie..perfect date night in!! He rented Broken City, which was so good! Saturday was full of fun in the sun, great friends, food and drinks! Once the party got started the pictures stopped... sorry!

Weekend Wrap-Up: Spring has Sprung!

Happy Monday! It feels like forever since I've blogged, but I am back and it feels so good! Last week was craziness.. Lots going on and I was in Chicago for most of it to get ready for a tradeshow. This weekend was full of quality time with the hubby and getting things done around the house.

1. Date night with lots of sushi and wine!

2. Saturday Tyler went to the gun show with my dad, so I caught up on Brothers and Sisters. Such a good series!!!

3. Saturday night we tried out a new restaurant, TruFire, and it was so good! The weather was SO nice, we ate on the patio.. here's what Tyler got.

4. Sunday we planted some flowers in the backyard, which makes it feel more home-y.

5. Sunday consisted of yard work with a side of more yard work... this was my reward/bribe to finish the last bit!

6. We heated the pool this weekend, so we could enjoy it a couple of weeks sooner than normal. After all of the yard work, beers and pool time was much needed and well deserved!

Weekend Wrap-Up: 5K Shenanigans!

Hello Monday. This weekend was a blast, and exhausting at the same time! I got my Saturday started with an 8:30am Pure Barre class, which was amazing. After that I went to Luke's Locker to get our race packets and I randomly ran in to my bestie, Whitney, who was picking up her packet too. We then took it upon ourselves to go get breakfast at Jamba Juice and catch up! I came home to the hubby doing yard work.. full-on yard work - weeding, mowing, edging, fertilizing.. he did all of this between the thunderstorms and hail that hit Dallas! Luckily I didn't have to partake in any of that, because it was freezing! Later that night the rain held out and we met friends for a pre-race dinner at Cafe Express and then by 8:30 we were running! I finished the 5k in 37 minutes, which I'm super proud of - seeing as how I haven't been running in 6+ months.. Oh, and running in a tutu.. not so bad until the tulle gets stuck in the crotch area... enough said. After the race, we headed to the bars to celebrate.. Scruffy Duffies is one of my faves.. they have the best Cranberry Vodka in town! They use white cranberry juice and then garnish the drink with cranberries and a lime. YUM!

 Sunday we were SO sore.. We literally stayed in sweats all day, except when we went to get food - but once we got back to the house, the sweats were back on! We went to breakfast at Rudy's and then got dessert.. you know, to celebrate surviving the 5k. Then we napped and caught up on the DVR until about 5. I was seriously planning on cooking dinner and Tyler wanted to go out to eat - I was shocked, but didn't want to pass this rare occasion up! So we tried Fireside Pies, since we had never been. Best Caesar salad, best pizza, best brownie! Yes, we had dessert twice today... Tyler's sweet tooth needs to hit the road!
