Taste of Tuesday: Love for Dove!

Happy Tuesday, loves! Tyler went Dove hunting over Labor Day weekend and I was so excited for him to get home with the goods! Last year he went hunting and gave all his dove to a client. He knew better this time and came home with over 15! I love to stuff them with jalapenos and cream cheese and then wrap them in bacon! SO good!

Ingredients:
- Dove Breasts
- Bacon
- Cream Cheese
- Jalapenos
- Toothpicks

Directions:
1. Chop the Jalapenos
2. Lay out bacon and cut in half
3. Butterfly the dove breasts
4. Set out cream cheese and toothpicks
5. Place jalapeno and cream cheese on the butterflied dove breast
6. Fold closed
7. Wrap in bacon tightly
8. Secure with toothpick
9. Grill to your liking
10. ENJOY!!

  2. Although I know Tyler got the Dove on his recent trip, I can say I have never tried Dove, what is similar too? I think I would replace the Jalapenos with an apple slice since I am a baby when it comes to spicy food but it looks really good!

  4. Oh my goodness, this looks so good! I'm going to have to share this with my parents. :) Does he hunt deer too? There's nothing I love more than venison chili!

  5. I have never had dove! Is it similar to duck where you can cook it medium rare? I like @ Till Then Smile Often's idea of using apples because I have a sensitive palette :)

Did you have to do all the cleaning of the doves or did he do that for you? I have some friends that go Alaskan fishing, but they send their fish to a company to have them cleaned, cut and packaged.

  7. Not gonna lie, I'm a little nervous to try Dove. This California girl isn't used to that type of stuff!

  9. This looks so good! I don't think I would be brave enough to try it, but I know a lot of people who would love me forever if I made it for them!
